Responsibilities
If you are looking to take ownership and actively shape the future of intelligent, data-driven manufacturing processes, beON is the right place for you. We value your experience in Operational Technology (OT) and industrial automation just as much as your openness to modern machine learning and AI technologies.
Your responsibilities include:
- Integrating software solutions and machine learning algorithms into existing process control systems (PLC/DCS) for customers in the food and beverage industry.
- Analysing, configuring, and optimising data flows within industrial control architectures to enable complete traceability and real-time process optimisation.
- Supporting implementation and on-site commissioning at customer production facilities, including functional testing to ensure a smooth transition into live operation.
- Conducting business-oriented process analyses to identify and realise economic optimisation potential, such as energy savings, raw material efficiency, and increased production throughput.
- Advising customers on connecting the physical production environment (Operational Technology) with modern machine learning models.
- Working with technologies such as Siemens SISTAR/Braumat, ProLeiT PlantIT/brewmaxx, IoT interfaces (e.g. OPC UA, MQTT), and industrial databases.
- Using modern project and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and other relevant system tools.
Qualifications
- Degree or solid technical qualification in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, Brewing/Beverage Technology, or a comparable field.
- Initial professional experience as a PLC Programmer, Automation Engineer, Process Engineer, or in a comparable role within the food and beverage industry.
- Mandatory: In-depth expertise in Siemens SISTAR/Braumat and ProLeiT PlantIT/brewmaxx.
- Ideally, initial exposure to big data technologies, IoT interfaces (e.g. OPC UA, MQTT), or industrial database systems.
- Strong business acumen with a clear understanding of the financial impact of production downtime and how process optimisation improves customer ROI.
- Ability to communicate complex technical and process engineering concepts in a clear and understandable way while developing technology-neutral solutions together with customers.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally for customer assignments.
- Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
